Playa del Cristo beach Estepona is a small bay with lovely sand just west of the marina and is very popular with families. The safe beach is sheltered and very clean with blue flag status.
Chiringuitos on the beach provide food and drink throughout the day with sun loungers and public toilets available too.
Facing west, the beach is sheltered with soft sand and a gentle slope into calm shallow waters that are safe for paddling or swimming as the mood takes you.
You can hire sun beds and umbrellas at reasonable prices and if you're there at sunset, you can watch the sun dip down behind the rock of Gibraltar.
It also suits novice paddle boarders with clear shallow water and minimal currents.
Parking is free right on the beach but it can get busy during the peak summer season.
